Matt Brick didn’t always envision a career in law. With a psychology degree in hand and aspirations of pursuing psychiatry, he was preparing for medical school. But one evening, a lively round of Mario Kart with his older brother sparked a conversation about the challenges of law school—a playful discussion that ultimately redirected the course of his professional life. That moment of sibling banter set him on a path that would define his career as a skilled labor and employment attorney.
After achieving a higher score on the LSAT than on other graduate exams, Matt accepted a scholarship that allowed him to complete law school in just two years. He joined a long-standing family tradition of legal practice that includes his father, aunt, uncles, and more than a dozen cousins. Law offered Matt the opportunity to combine his analytical strengths with his enduring desire to help people, echoing the empathy that initially drew him toward mental health.
Today, Matt Brick is a shareholder at Brick Gentry P.C., representing private corporations and municipalities across a broad spectrum of labor and employment law matters. His practice encompasses labor negotiations, dispute resolution, human resources training, employee discipline, employment policy development, and contract guidance. He also represents clients in employment-related litigation, bringing both strategic insight and practical solutions to complex workplace disputes.
Matt is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Eighth Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. Through his work, he provides organizations with comprehensive labor and employment counsel, combining deep expertise with a practical, results-oriented approach that protects clients, supports compliance, and fosters productive workplaces.
